San Francisco Love Tours

Covid-19 & Tours in San Francisco

We believe in counting our blessings. In this horrid pandemic that has taken so much from so many of us, and for some it has taken all, we are taking pride in being part of a State and City that reacted quickly to save lives. We were first in the Nation to shut down slowing down the spread of Covid-19 in San Francisco. We are thankful to all who did and continue to do their part to stop the spread of the virus. Slowly and methodically the City is opening back up to our normal way of life.

We are also super excited to reopen our services and have you hitch a ride with us. To do so, we are adopting the following guidelines for your safety, our guides, and everyone around us:

Mask & Vaccinations

As the Delta variant is in the rise, in the City we are required to wear a mask in all in-door places, regardless of vaccination status. This includes a mask while inside of the VW’s during your tour. Also, it is important to note that the vaccine passport is mainly required in restaurants, theaters, and large venues. In our tours, are NOT required. On that note, those that can in our team, have chosen to be vaccinated. 🙂

Volkswagen Sanitation

Before and after every ride, we are disinfecting our lovely VW’s so that they only spread love and joy. This means that we will clean and sanitize all door handles, window cranks (no power buttons here), emergency assist handles, seatbelts, along with all other hard surfaces. We have vinyl seats in all of our VW’s, so they are easy to sanitize as well! We do this because we care about you and your loved ones back home.

Tour Guides & Drivers

We work with some of the coolest peeps out there who happen to be your driver/guide. To keep everyone safe, we are giving each one of them a hands-free microphone for awesome surround sound in the VW. Usually we don’t need to, but we don’t want to belch out jokes and facts in order to reach the back of the bus and rather we whisper words of wisdom (sorry couldn’t help it) and let it be an awesome ride. They will also have masks and/or complete clear face shields so you can see their smile.

During Tours or Transfer Services Guidelines

Stay home if you have COVID-19 or related symptoms

It is always a bummer to get sick, particularly when you have been looking forward to a fun activity. However, if you think you have the virus, staying home is the best way to help contain it and protect other people. We will be doing a temperature check to all guests before we start our tour. Don’t worry, if you are not feeling well, we will totally reschedule your tour once you are all better!

Wear a face covering

The CDC recommends cloth face coverings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. They can help people who may have the virus (and do not know it) from transmitting it to others. Put your mask on before you hop on the VW, and wear it for the duration of the ride. Remember to sanitize your hands before putting on, touching, or taking off your face covering.

Keep the VW’s hippie buses & your hands clean

Before you head out for your ride, think about what to have on hand (like sanitizer and a mask). Sanitize your hands before touching anything in the VW. Please do not leave trash behind. The CDC recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content, and if you have to cough or sneeze, do it into a tissue or your elbow.

Sit in the back seats

Put some distance between yourself and your guide. We have two benches behind the driver’s seat for you to enjoy. The front seat will remain unused during this time.

Keep the car windows open

When possible, open the windows during your ride, or leave them open if that’s the way you find them. This helps to increase the air circulation in the car. We have outfitted our VW’s with custom made windows so that air flows from all bay-windows

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

tours in san franciscoI simply can’t imagine a better way of experiencing going up and down the hills of San Francisco than in a VW-hippie bus. The allure of these adorable V-Dubs are only matched by the marvelous sights and stories encapsulated by this ever-changing city. People wanting to ride in a VW bus are kindred spirits who appreciate a small, family-like experience with guides that love storytelling as much as they love living in this city. These are genuine experiences, befriending authentic people, making extraordinaire memories. ~ Allan
